Cory’s path in education began in Michigan, USA where he grew up and also attended Michigan State University. Along with earning his BA of History Education, he later went on to achieve his MA of Educational Technology. He first started teaching History and Theory of Knowledge in the International Baccalaureate program, in Kuwait. After two years, he decided to make the move to online education. Cory is now going on five years with iCademy Middle East and wouldn’t have it any other way. Along with teaching MS and LS Social Studies, he has also taken on the role of MS and LS Lead Teacher. ‘’I absolutely loves my work with iCademy as I get to do rewarding work with wonderful students, families, and staff from around the world each day.’’
Meet Ms. Paula, one of our qualified SEN Teachers from Ireland at the iCad+ programme here in iCademy Middle East. Having graduated with honors from Trinity College Dublin with a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics she taught for 8 years in the Irish education system in both mainstream education and in the area of special needs. 6 years ago, Paula moved to Dubai and spent her first two years working as an Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist. Paula has been working with the iCad+ Group for 4 years now, it has been an amazing and rewarding experience for her. Every day here is truly different. The iCad+ programme is unique, just like the students there. Ms. Paula and her team, under the guidance of Ms. Jo, provide a safe and intimate environment where the students are given the opportunity to develop not just academically but personally and socially. The teams aim is to offer a diverse curriculum that covers not only academics but many essential skills such as life skills, communication, social, health and employability skills. real life, age appropriate skills and to promote future independence.
Angela Johansson is from Sweden and has a Bachelor with Honors Degree from the UK in Criminology and Sociology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Angela joined iCademy Middle East in 2012, and this is her 8th year working in the Learning Center. Ms. Angela is the Middle & High School Lead Learning Coach and enjoys working alongside the students in helping them reach their potential. ‘’I love teaching and seeing students’ progress and develop’’.
Ashley Curd and is the School Counselor and Lower School Homeroom Teacher at iCademy Middle East. This is her second year working here and her sixth year working in the education field. Ashley received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and her PGC in Psychological Research Methods of Child Development from the University of Stirling in Scotland. She offers a virtual counseling setting which allows her to reach out to all our students, no matter where in the world they live. Students can meet with Ashley one-on-one for counseling sessions as well as explore the various counseling resources and monthly webinars hosted on our education platform. She works with students on both mental health issues and reaching their academic goals.
